Kennel history

Our first flat was Ronda, a bitch that I (Karin) bought 1981. I was fifteen years old and had saved money to a school travel, but then I used the money to buy a dog instead and it is something that I never regret. We never conquered any bigger success together, but we got thirteen happy years together. We competed some in obedience and shows but we never take any puppies after her.

1986 Thomas and I (Karin) get together and we realized soon that one dog was too little. We then bought a bitch, 1989, from Kennel Gunhill. Namely NUCH LP Gunhills Cirkusprinsessan who became our ground for our breeding. Through her we get to now a whole new and exited dog world. It was she who introduced us in field test, tracking and breeding.
We competed with several breeding groups with her in shows
and the results was remarkable good, eight Best In Show we get with her!

Our first litter we had in 1991 with Lady Doc's Humbug and NUCH LP Gunhills Cirkusprinsessan and it resulted in seven puppies. It becomes a really successful combination with three Swedish show champions, SUCH Lustans Active Joker, SUCH NUCH Lustans Active Runner who also became Norwegian show champion and our own bitch SUCH FINUCH SVCH Lustans Active Charmer and she also became Finnish show champion and Swedish tracking champion.
In the second litter she got a very beautiful bitch SU(u)CH Lustans Cassiopeia Star.

SUCH FINUCH SVCH Lustans Active Charmer had also many good puppies. The result was four show champions and one of them was also an international champion, INTUCH FINUCH SUCH Lustans Charming Rookie.

After SUCH FINUCH SVCH Lustans Active Charmer we also get a daughter, SUCH Lustans Future Ambition, that we kept and she had a wonderful litter, the males SU(u)CH Lustans Ambitious Bird Collector and SUCH Lustans Ambitious Bird Capture is the most well-known. After SUCH Lustans Ambitious Bird Capture we now have a really bright and beauty bitch Red Mountain’s Captured By Lustan.

In 1995 we buy another bitch from Kennel Gunhills, it was SUCH SVCH Gunhills Silent Night, and after her we got the liver line.
Unfortunately she past away right after her second litter because her stomach turn around and the veterinary could not save her.
Her puppies are very good in working so good that we got the
SKC:s award for breeding excellent stock.

Her daughter from her first litter, who also became field trail champion, SJCH SUCH SVCH Lustans Silent Gift became the winner of the reward prize Swedish Flat coated retriever Of the Year 2006 And she also became historical because she is the only one yet who win four prizes of the Flat coated retriever club in the same year, Flat coated retriever of the year, Mardis Memory, Bonnie’s VP and the Lady Trofé.

She also has two promising litter and we have two daughters after her now, SVCH Lustans Kahlúa Black Charisma and Lustans Lucky Wish.

SUCH SVCH Gunhills Silent Night also got two very good bitches in the second litter.
SVCH LPI Lustans Midwinter Night-Light and she has one litter and we kept two very promising dogs Lustans Slight Dizzel, a male, and a bitch Lustans Light Misty after her.
Lustans Midwinter Night-Sprite has also one litter and we kept a very promising bitch called Lustans Camelon Sprite after her.

Our plans were not perhaps in the beginning to become breeders, but when we once experience the wonderful with all the puppies we cold not stop. It is exciting to follow the puppies in theirs progress and to see what the finally results became.
The breeding name, Kennel Lustans (means desire), came after that we looked in our record collections. There we found, "Lustans Lakejer", a Swedish pop-group.

To be a dog owner and a breeder has given us a lot of happiness so we hope that we can continue with this life a long time.
